113.536 - 도가철학연습 : Seminar in Taoist Philosophy 최근 馬王堆黃老帛書의 발견으로 기존 노자의 이해의 새로운 가능성이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 볼 때 노자 문헌의 대표적 해석은 최초의 노자 주석자로 알려진 韓非子의 喩老, 解老와 위진시대 王弼의 老子注 등을 들 수 있다. 전자는 소위 노자의 黃老學式 해석을, 후자는 本體論에 입각한 形而上學的 해석을 대표한다. 본 강좌에서는 이러한 분류 방식의 정당성을 중점적으로 점검, 학습한다. The recent discovery of Mawangduihuanglaoboshu (馬王堆黃老帛書) opens new possibilities for interpreting Laozi's Daodejing (道德經). Until now the most authoritative commentaries on the Daodejing have been Hanfeizi's Yulao (喩老) and Jielao (解老), and Wang Bi's Laozizhu (老子注); the former two interpret the Daodejing as the art of government according to the principle of non-striving ascribed to Huangdi and Laozi, whereas the latter interprets the Daodejing as a metaphysical work. In this course, students will research and discuss the legitimacy of both commentaries, incorporating the newly discovered Mawangduihuanglaoboshu (馬王堆黃老帛書).  113.537 - 도가철학연구 : Studies in Taoist Philosophy 종래 도가철학이라고 하면 곧 老莊哲學과 동일시되곤 했다. 근래 전국시대 노자의 황노식 해석 가능성은 위의 등식 가능성을 재점검하는 계기가 되었다. 그래서 본 강좌에서는 과연 위의 등식이 성립하는가, 즉 노장의 연칭이 타당한가를 우선적으로 검토하고자 한다. 나아가 장자에 대한 위진시대 해석방식, 성리학식 해석 방식 등을 현대적인 주석과 함께 비교, 연구하려고 한다. Taoism has also been called "Lao-Zhuang zhexue," the philosophy of Laozi and Zhuangzi. However, a recent interpretation of Laozi's Daodejing as the art of government, according to the principle of non-striving ascribed to Huangdi and Laozi, raises a question about the legitimacy of calling Taoism a "Lao-Zhuang" philosophy. This course aims to address this problem. In addition, students will engage in comparative research on the various interpretations of Laozi's Daodejing by scholars of the Wei-Jin dynasty, and by Neo-Confucians and contemporary scholars.  113.538 - 성리학연습 : Seminar in N대 - Confucian Philosophy 주자의 성리학 완성, 종합화의 성립 가능성을 검토하기 위해서 주자 이전의 周濂溪, 　雍, 程　, 程顥, 張載, 張　 등의 사상을 검토함으로써 주자 사상의 형성과 그 체계를 전체적으로 조망하려고 한다. In this course, students study Zhu Xi's completion of the Neo-Confucian theoretical system. To understand fully the development and completion of Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucian theoretical system, students will also study scholars who greatly influenced him: Zhou Lianxi, Shao Yong, Cheng Yi, Cheng Hao, Zhang Zai, and Zhang Shi.  113.539 - 유가철학연구 : Studies in Confucian Philosophy 유가철학의 현대적 재해석이라는 측면에서 청말민국초의 胡適, 馮友蘭, 康有爲 등의 사상을 집중해서 검토해봄으로써 현대신유가가 등장할 수 있는 시대적 배경을 점검하고자 한다. 나아가 한국에서도 위와 유사한 모델을 바탕으로 한국의 현대신유가 분석의 틀을 모색해보자 한다. This course surveys the historical background which produced contemporary Neo-Confucians like Hu Shi, Feng Youlan, and Kang Youwei, who lived at the closing of the Qing dynasty. Students will look into the possibility of understanding contemporary Korean Neo-Confucians while considering the development of contemporary Chinese Neo-Confucians.  113.540 - 인도철학연구 : Studies in Indian Philosophy 인도인의 철학적 사유의 역사적 배경과 문화적 특성을 검토하며 諸철학학파들의 형성과 발달을 역사적으로 고찰한다. 정통六派철학뿐만 아니라 非정통 불교철학의 諸학파와 쟈이나교의 철학도 심도 있게 다룬다. 기본적이면서도 인도철학에서 중요한 위치를 차지하는 문헌들을 직접 읽게 하며 인도의 전통철학들이 제기하는 철학적 문제들을 스스로 비판적으로 재구성하여 그 성과를 토론내용으로 삼음으로써 공동토의의 형식으로 수업이 진행될 것이다.  This course examines the historical background and cultural characteristics of Indian thought. Students will conduct an in-depth study of both orthodox and non-orthodox schools of Indian philosophy, including Buddhism and Jainism. After reading selections from major Indian classics, they will be required to investigate philosophical problems of ancient Indians.  113.541 - 인도철학연습 : Seminar in Indian Philosophy 인도인의 철학적 사유의 역사적 배경과 문화적 특성을 검토하며 諸철학학파들의 형성과 발달을 역사적으로 고찰한다. 정통六派철학뿐만 아니라 非정통 불교철학의 諸학파와 쟈이나교의 철학도 심도 있게 다룬다. 기본적이면서도 인도철학에서 중요한 위치를 차지하는 문헌들을 직접 읽게 하며 인도의 전통철학들이 제기하는 철학적 문제들을 스스로 비판적으로 재구성하여 그 성과를 토론내용으로 삼음으로써 공동토의의 형식으로 수업이 진행될 것이다. In this course, students research the historical background and cultural characteristics of Indian thought, and conduct an in-depth study of the orthodox and non-orthodox schools of Indian philosophy. Students will be expected to lead the class in open discussions after reading a selection of major Indian classics and critically investigating as well as reconstructing the philosophical problems common to ancient Indian philosophers.  113.554 - 서양현대철학연습 : Seminar in Contemporary Western Philosophy 이 과목에서는 현상학, 해석학, 실존철학, 비판이론, 구조주의, 포스트모더니즘 등 주로 20세기의 유럽현대철학사조가 다루어지며, 학생들이 주어진 주제에 대해 연구한 바를 발표하고 그것에 대해 토론하는 방식으로 강의가 진행된다. This course deals with 20th century European philosophy: phenomenology, hermeneutics, existentialism, critical theory, structuralism, and postmodernism. Students are required both to give a presentation on given topics and to discuss them in class.  113.555 - 인식론연습 : Seminar in Theory of Knowledge 근세에서 현대로 계승되는 인식론의 주제들을 선별 개발하여 강의한다. 특히 지식을 둘러싼 최근의 논쟁들에 초점을 맞춘다. 인식론의 문제들이 성립 전개되는 역사적 문맥뿐만 아니라, 그 문제들에 대한 논리적 재구성과 해결의 가능성을 모색한다. The course will focus on recent debates concerning knowledge. It will select a number of topics in modern epistemology and discuss them, examining not only historical contexts in which epistemological problems are raised and developed, but also the logical reconstruction of these problems and their solutions.  113.556 - 존재론연습 : Seminar in ontology 이 과목은 존재론의 고전적 텍스트 가운데 한 둘을 골라 그에 대한 강독 및 토론을 진행함으로써 존재론에 대한 이해를 심화시킴을 목표로 한다. 교재로 사용될 수 있는 텍스트는 Parmenides, Platon, Aristoteles, Augustinus, Thomas Aquinas, Kant, Hegel, Hartmann, Heidegger 등의 존재론 관련 저작들이다. This course is intended to deepen students' understanding of ontology. For this class, one or two classical texts concerning ontology (from the works of Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, Kant, Hegel, Hartmann, Heidegger) will be selected, read, and discussed.  113.557 - 형이상학연습 : Seminar in Metaphysics 이 과목은 형이상학의 고전적 텍스트 가운데 한 둘을 골라 그에 대한 강독 및 토론을 진행함으로써 형이상학에 대한 이해를 심화시킴을 목표로 한다. 교재로 사용될 수 있는 텍스트는 Parmenides, Herakleitos, Platon, Aristoteles, Plotinos, Augustinus, Thomas Aquinas, Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Kant, Hegel, Schelling, Nietzsche, Bergson, Heidegger, Whitehead 등의 형이상학 관련 저작들이다. Topics in modern metaphysics will be selected and discussed throughout the course as students examine the historical contexts in which metaphysical problems are raised and developed. Students will discuss their findings, thus deepening their understanding of this field.  113.559 - 윤리학연습 : Seminar in Ethical Theory 윤리학 고전의 강독을 통하여 원전독해력을 함양하고 윤리적 제문제에 대한 원론적 이해를 도모한다. The course will improve students' ability to read original texts and understand various ethical problems. We will read various classical texts on ethics.  113.560 - 사회철학연습 : Seminar in Social Philosophy 인간은 사회적 연관 한 복판에 있는 그 자체가 사회의 산물이다. 따라서 학문적 대상으로서 사회를 연구하기가 곤란한 것은 연구자가 연구대상과 일정한 거리를 두고 떨어져 있는 것이 아니라 대상과 바로 연관되어 있기 때문이다. 모든 사회 이론이 곧 사회적 실천의 한 부분이 되는 까닭도 여기에 있다. 이 과목은 제반 사회이론의 타당성을 엄밀한 방법론에 입각해 철학적으로 검토하는 작업을 세미나 형식으로 진행한다. Assuming humans are products of their society, it is difficult as humans to to investigate a society in which we live as a scientific object. This seminar examines the validity of various social theories about such methodology.  113.562 - 논리철학연습 : Seminar in Philosophy of Logic 양화 논리학과 존재론, 논리 형식의 여러 문제들, 문장 진술 명제의 구분과 관련하여 발생하는 여러 문제들, 단칭어에 대한 기술론과 인과론의 문제, 의미론적 역설과 집합이론적 역설, 대응설 정합설 실용설 의미론적 진리설 잉여설 등의 진리론, 양상논리학 시제논리학 의무논리학 인식논리학 등과 같은 확장논리학의 철학적 함축, 다치논리학 직관주의 논리학 등과 같은 비표준 논리학의 철학적 함축, 올바른 논리 체계에 대한 일원론 다원론 도구론 등의 형이상학적 문제, 오류 가능주의가 논리학에도 적용 가능한가 하는 인식론적 문제, 경험주의 실재론 심리주의 규약주의 등으로 나뉘어져 경합하고 있는 논리학의 정당화 근거 문제 등의 논리철학 문제들을 다룬다. 이 과목은 학생들이 주어진 주제에 대해 연구한 바를 발표하고 그것에 대해 토론하는 방식으로 진행된다. In this course we will analyze various topics: quantified logic and ontology; problems concerning logical forms; the distinction among sentence, statement and proposition; description theory vs. causal theory regarding singular terms; semantic paradox and set-theoretic paradox; correspondence, coherence, pragmatic, semantic, and redundancy theories of truth; philosophical implications of extended logics including modal, tense, deontic, and spistemic logics; philosophical implications of non-standard logic such as many-valued logic and intuitionistic logic; metaphysical problems such as monism and pluralism on the correctness of logical systems; and problems in philosophies of logic including empiricism, realism, psychologism and conventionalism on justifying the ground of logic. 113.563 - 언어철학연습 : Seminar in Philosophy of Language 언어 철학에서의 중요 문제들은 언어와 세계와의 관계, 언어와 사고와의 관계, 언어와 문화와의 관계라 할 수 있다. 보다 구체적으로 말해, 의미란 존재하는 것인가? 존재한다면 의미란 과연 어떤 존재자인가? 언어적 존재자가 어떻게 언어 밖에 존재하는 세계와 관계를 맺을 수 있는가? 의미와 진리와는 어떤 관계에 있는가? 하는 문제들과 아울러 화행(話行), 언어적/대상적 필연성, 명제, 사적 언어, 은유의 문제 등이 다루어진다. 이러한 언어와 관련된 철학적 문제들을 형식언어, 변형언어, 해석학 및 구조주의적인 입장에서 비교, 검토한다. 이 과목은 학생들이 주어진 주제에 대해 연구한 바를 발표하고 그것에 대해 토론하는 방식으로 진행된다. This course is a study in philosphy of language examining the relations between language and the world, thought, and culture. Delving deeper, it will deal with more specific questions: Do meanings exist? If so, what kind of entities are they? What is the nature of the relation? What is the relation between meaning and truth? The course is also concerned with the speech act, linguistic/objectual necessity, proposition, private language, and metaphor. It analyzes these topics from the perspectives of formal language, transformed language, hermeneutics and structuralism. Students are required to give a presentation on a given topic and lead the class in discussi.  113.565 - 과학철학연습 : Seminar in Philosophy of Science 과학의 합리성, 과학적 실재론, 시 공간의 철학, 과학적 환원, 양자역학의 철학 등 과학과 관련된 여러 철학적 논의들 중 한두 가지를 선택해 집중적으로 논의한다. 과학의 합리성 논의는 과학이 다른 분야와는 달리 방법론적으로 어떤 믿을 만한 근거를 가지고 있는 것인가 하는 문제를 다루며, 과학적 실재론 논의는 과학적 이론이 과연 실재 세계의 모습을 그대로 반영하고 있는 것인지, 아니면 도구적인 유용성만 있는 것인지 하는 것을 다루며, 시 공간의 철학은 시 공간 개념의 규약성등 시 공간과 관련된 제반 문제를 다루며, 과학적 환원의 문제는 환원이 성립하기 위해서는 어떤 조건들이 성립하여야 하는가 하는 것을 다루며, 양자 역학의 철학은 자유의지와 결정론의 문제등을 다룬다. 이 과목은 학생들이 주어진 주제에 대해 연구한 바를 발표하고 그것에 대해 토론하는 방식으로 진행된다. For this course, one or two topics will be chosen from science-related philosophical problems and discussed intensively. The chosen topics will concern scientific rationality, scientific realism, philosophy of space and time, scientific reduction, and philosophy of quantum mechanics. Students will be required to give a presentation on a given topic and lead the class in discussion.  113.568 - 가치론연습 : Seminar in Axiology 윤리학과 관련된 다양한 사회적 제문제 혹은 가치 관련 문제들을 보다 실천적인 관점에서 다룸으로써 가치관 정립의 기반을 제공한다. The course provides a basis for grounding value system by dealing practically with various social and value-related problems in ethics.  113.572 - 문화철학연습 : Seminar in Philosophy of Culture 근세세계와 사회에 대한 반성적 검토, 東西 문화의 융합, 지식과 정보가 핵심적인 역할을 하는 사회의 정보화가 진행되면서 문화가 입게 될 영향에 대한 학문적 관심이 고조되고 있다. 이 과목에서는 이에 대한 관심을 문화의 특수성과 보편성, 매체의 보편화의 문화적 함의들을 검토한다. This course reflectively examines society, the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, and the effect of the information society on culture. It also examines the particularity and universality of culture as well as the implications of a universalizing media.  113.573 - 문화철학연구 : Studies in Philosophy of Culture  이 과목은 문화의 특수성과 보편성, 문화가 띄고 있는 철학적 함축 등을 개별 철학자의 원전을 중심으로 하여 강독, 비판함을 목적으로 한다. 특히 Vico, Hegel, Herder, Wittgenstein, Foucault, Habermas 등 문화철학의 고전이라 할 수 있는 저술이 주로 다루어진다.  Our objective is to deal with the particularity and universality of culture and its philosophical implication. The students will read, analyze and critique various classical works of philosophers such as Vico, Herder, Wittgenstein, Foucault and Habermas.  113.574 - 철학적방법론연습 : Seminar in Philosophical Methodology 이 과목에서는 학문방법론으로서의 분석과 종합, 연역과 귀납, 귀납법의 방법론으로서의 정당성 문제들을 다룬다. 특히 최근에 많이 논의되고 있는 자연주의적 방법이 철학의 방법으로서 자리를 차지할 수 있는가도 비판적으로 논의된다. The course deals with the methodology of science such as analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction. We will also discuss whether the recently discussed naturalistic method is appropriate for philosophy.  113.575 - 서양고대철학연습 : Seminar in Ancient Western Philosophy 플라톤과 아리스토텔레스를 중심으로 서양고대철학 전 시기의 주요 문헌을 선택하여 강독하고 토론함으로써 고전문헌에의 접근능력을 함양하는 것이 이 교과목의 목표이다. 전문적 연구자로서 요구되는 고전적에의 접근 방식을 문헌학적, 역사적 방식을 통해 습득하며, 철학적 논의의 분석을 통해 서양철학 기본개념들의 구조와 상호연관에 대한 이해를 심화한다. This course will improve students' ability to access classical literature. Certain texts by Greek philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle will be chosen, read, and discussed. By analyzing philosophy, the students will then learn how to approach classical texts in a philological and historical way, and understand the interrelation between basic concepts in western philosophy.  113.576 - 서양근세철학연습 : Seminar in Modern Western Philosophy 서양 근세철학사에 주요 쟁점들을 선택 개발하여 자유롭게 강의 토론한다. 해당 원전에 대한 철학사적 해석과 체계적 분석을 연습하여 서양 근세철학에 대한 심층적인 이해를 도모하고 현대철학이 열어놓은 전망 속에서 비판적으로 계승 극복할 수 있는 길을 모색한다. This class will hold lectures and discussions on key issues in modern Western philosophy. The course helps students deepen their understanding of Western modern philosophy through philosophical interpretations and systematic analyses of original texts. It will also attempt to find a way to inherit and develop modern Western philosophy from a contemporary perspective. 113.577 - 심리철학연습 : Seminar in Philosophy of Mind '마음의 본성은 무엇인가'라는 것은 古代로부터 이어지는 중요한 철학적 문제 중의 하나이다. 이 과목에서는 '마음과 신체의 관계는 무엇인가'라는 존재론적인 문제와, '심리용어의 의미는 어떤 근거에서 가능한가'라는 의미론적인 문제, '자신의 마음과 他人의 마음은 어떻게 인식될 수 있는가'하는 인식론적인 문제 등이 다루어진다. 이 과목은 학생들이 주어진 주제에 대해 연구한 바를 발표하고 그것에 대해 토론하는 방식으로 진행된다.  What is the nature of the mind? has been one of philosophy's most important questions since ancient times. This course deals with such ontological questions concerning the relation between mind and body, the semantic question of the meanings of mental terms, and the epistemological question of how to know one's mind as well as another's. In this class, students are required to give presentations on given topics and discuss them.  113.578 - 심리철학연구 : Studies in Philosophy of Mind '마음의 본성은 무엇인가'라는 것은 古代로부터 이어지는 중요한 철학적 문제 중의 하나이다. 이 과목에서는 '마음과 신체의 관계는 무엇인가'라는 존재론적인 문제와, '심리용어의 의미는 어떤 근거에서 가능한가'라는 의미론적인 문제, '자신의 마음과 他人의 마음은 어떻게 인식될 수 있는가'하는 인식론적인 문제 등이 다루어진다. 이 과목은 위의 주제에 관한 주요 原典들을 선택하여 강독하고 이 강독의 토대 위에서 토론을 하는 방식으로 진행된다. This course deals with three concerns: the ontological question of the relation between mind and body, the semantic question of the meanings of mental terms, and the epistemological question of how to know one's own mind as well as another's. Students will read selected classical texts on the above topics and discuss them.  113.580 - 서양중세철학연습1 : Seminar in Medieval Western Philosophy 1 이 강의는 원전 연구를 통해 아우구스티누스를 비롯한 주요 교부철학자들의 사상에 대한 이해를 깊게 하는 것을 목표로 설정하고 있다. 원전에서 논의되고 있는 문제 해결 시도에 관한 철학적인 평가에 가장 큰 비중이 주어지지만, 이에 못지 않게 문제의 성립배경 등 논의와 연관된 기타 역사적인 맥락에 관한 지식까지 포괄하는 종합적인 안목을 키우는 노력도 중시된다. 수강자는 특히 원전 해석에 관한 후대의 중요한 연구 성과에 대해서도 일정 수준 이상의 지식을 갖추도록 요구받게 될 것이다. This course aims to deepen students' understanding of Patristic philosophy like Augustine's. It primarily focuses on the evaluation of problem-solving attempts in original texts. However, it will also encourage students to have an appreciative eye for the historical background in which those problems were raised. By the end of the course, students are expected to have solid knowledge of the various interpretations of the original texts.  113.581 - 서양중세철학연습2 : Seminar in Medieval Western Philosophy 2 이 강의에서는 스콜라 철학의 핵심적인 쟁점이 심층적으로 토의될 것이다. 스콜라 철학은 정교한 논변과 치밀한 이론 체계의 구성을 특징으로 하고 있으므로 이론의 논리적, 형식적 타당성에 대한 분석이 토의의 주된 내용을 이룬다. 그러나 스콜라 철학은 전반적으로 아리스토텔레스 철학에 기반을 둔 체계이기도 하므로 고대철학의 전승이라는 측면과 동시에 앞으로 성립할 근세철학과 연계된다는 측면을 고려한 철학사적 평가의 노력 역시 병행된다. Inn this course core issues in Scholastic philosophy will be discussed intensively. Since elaborate arguments and delicately constructed theories are characteristic of Scholasticism, analysis of the logical and formal validity of theories will be the main focus of discussion. Scholastic philosophy will also be evaluated within historical contexts, due to its basis in Aristotle's philosophy and its subsequent relation to modern philosophy.  113.605 - 중국근대철학연습 : Seminar in Modern Chinese Philosophy 이 과목은 담사동 이후의 서양사상의 충격과 영향 하에서 자각되는 중국철학의 자체문제를 19세기 이후 어떻게 주체적으로 형성하고, 난관을 극복하며 전통철학의 정당성을 발전시켜 왔는지를 살피는 과목이다. 특히 5.4운동 이후 문화보수주의 학자들의 전통사상 긍정론 주장에 관하여 주목하며, 중국 근대철학의 강점과 현실성을 파악한다. In this course students examine how modern Chinese thinkers after Tan Sitong tried to overcome conflicts from Western thought and justify key principles of Chinese philosophy. The class will focus on Chinese cultural conservatives' apologetics and extend them to understand the reality of modern Chinese philosophy.  113.608 - 한국성리학연습 : Seminar in Korean Neo - Confucianism 조선 성리학은 중국에서 그 원형이 들어온 것이긴 하지만 조선의 중세적 질서에 알맞게 조선에서 재구성되었다. 성리학의 요체는 修己治人 즉 사회 구성원 각자의, 특히 상층 지식인의 도덕성 확보에 있다. 그래서 성리학의 세계관은 자연의 원리를 설명하는 理氣 개념과 도덕의 주체로서의 인간을 설명하는 心性 개념이 仁이라는 가치개념으로 합치되는 윤리주의적 세계관으로 발전해왔다. 이런 맥락에서 徐敬德, 金宗直, 趙光祖, 李滉, 李珥 등의 사상을 학습하고자 한다. The key point of Neo-Confucianism is to cultivate one's morality and to exercise leadership over others based on a moral order. This is the reason why Neo-Confucianism developed into moral metaphysics. Chinese Neo-Confucianism reconstituted itself into a Korean form in accordance with the medieval order of the Joseon dynasty. This course will focus on Korean Neo-Confucianism. In this class, students will study the works of Seo Gyeongdeok, Kim Jongjik, Jo Gwangjo, Yi Hwang, and Yi Yulgok to understand better its development.  113.613 - 중국불교철학연습 : Seminar in Chinese Buddhist Philosophy 중국인들의 불교 동화 사례는 현대 문명 교섭사의 측면에서 볼 때 분명히 귀감이 될 수 있다. 본 강좌는 불교와 중국 문화의 교섭이라는 면에서 중국식 護佛論, 格義佛敎, 僧肇, 三論宗, 唯識宗, 天台宗, 華嚴宗, 淨土宗, 禪宗 등의 사상을 검토하면서 마지막으로 중국 불교의 범형을 규정하고자 한다. The Chinese assimilation of Indian Buddhism gives us a precious illustration of the history of cultural exchange. In this course, students will examine Chinese national Buddhism, Geyi Buddhism (the translation technique used during the earliest period of the translation of Indian Buddhist texts into Chinese), Sengzhao's treatises, Sanlunzong (Chinese Madhyamika), Weishizong (Chinese Yogacara), Tiantaizong, Huayanzong, Jingtuzong, and Chanzong (Zen School) from the perspective of the exchange between Buddhism and Chinese culture.  113.617 - 한국불교철학연습 : Seminar in Korean Buddhist Philosophy 불교 전반에 대한 기본적 소양을 갖춘 수강생을 대상으로 인도, 중국불교와 다른 한국불교의 독창성을 중점적으로 규명하고자 한다. 구체적으로 元曉, 知訥, 義天 등의 대표적 고승들의 사상을 인도, 중국 불교철학과 대비하여 학습하고자 한다. In this course students examine the unique characteristics of Korean Buddhism which differ from those of Indian and Chinese Buddhism. Students study the works and thoughts of Wonhyo, Jinul, and Euicheon, and compare them with thinkers from Indian and Chinese Schools of Buddhism.  113.751 - 서양고대철학연구 : Studies in Ancient Western Philosophy 서양고대철학 전공자를 중심으로 주요 저자의 원전을 강독하면서 이 시기 전적들을 다룸에 수반되는 문헌학적 문제를 검토한다. 문헌에 제시되는 철학적 문제들을 논의하고, 최근 연구자들의 연구성과에 대한 비판적 검토작업을 통해 고전 문헌에의 심화된 접근능력을 함양시킨다. In this course we proceed by reading original texts of significant thinkers in ancient Western philosophy. It will attempt to improve students' ability to access classical literature by discussing philosophical problems presented in literary works. In addition we will critically examine recent field researches.  113.753 - 서양근세철학연구 : Studies in Modern Western Philosophy Descartes에서 Hegel에 이르는 서양 근세철학자들 중에서 자유롭게 선택, 해당 철학자의 학문 세계와 원전에 대하여 집중적으로 연구한다. 고전적 사상에 대한 철학사적 해석과 문헌 비판을 훈련하고, 근세철학에서 제기된 문제들을 현대적 관점에서 재구성하고 평가한다. In this course selected modern Western philosophers from Descartes to Hegel, and their original works, will be studied intensively. Students will be trained in philosophical interpretations of classical thoughts and analyses of original texts. Modern philosophical problems will be reconstructed and evaluated from the contemporary point of view.  113.754 - 서양현대철학연구 : Studies in Contemporary Western Philosophy 이 과목에서는 현상학, 해석학, 실존철학, 비판이론, 구조주의, 포스트모더니즘 등 주로 20세기의 유럽현대철학 사조가 다루어지며, 특정 주제에 관한 주요 원전들을 선택하여 강독하고 이 강독의 토대위에서 토론을 하는 방식으로 강의가 진행된다. This course deals with 20th century European philosophy such as phenomenology, hermeneutics, existentialism, critical theory, structuralism, and postmodernism. Students will read significant original texts on specific topics and discuss them.  113.755 - 인식론연구 : Studies in Theory of Knowledge 근세에서 현대에 이르기 까지 다양하게 펼쳐지는 인식론적 논쟁들을 원전을 중심으로 강의한다. 선택된 원전과 저자에 대한 집중적 연구를 토대로 인식론 일반의 주제들을 정리하고 비판적으로 검토한다. 고전적 인식론과 현대의 인식론적 논쟁들 사이의 철학사적 연관성에 주목한다. Lectures for this course focus on epistemological debates from modern to contemporary, using original texts. The course examines topics in epistemology while studying intensively certain selected texts and authors. Special attention will be paid to contemporary debates on epistemology.  113.756 - 존재론연구 : Studies in ontology 이 과목은 존재론의 고전적 텍스트들을 토대로 존재론의 주요 주제를 선택하여, 학생들의 발표와 토론을 통해 존재론에 대한 이해를 심화시킴을 목표로 한다. 교재로 사용될 수 있는 텍스트는 Parmenides, Platon, Aristoteles, Augustinus, Thomas Aquinas, Kant, Hegel, Hartmann, Heidegger 등의 존재론 관련 저작들이다. In the class, students will give presentations on selected topics in ontology while utilizing classical texts. Works from Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, Kant, Hegel, Hartmann, and Heidegger will be surveyed. The aim of the course is to improve students' understanding of ontology.  113.757 - 형이상학연구 : Studies in Metaphysics 이 과목은 형이상학의 고전적 텍스트들을 토대로 형이상학의 주요 주제를 선택하여, 학생들의 발표와 토론을 통해 형이상학에 대한 이해를 심화시킴을 목표로 한다. 교재로 사용될 수 있는 텍스트는 Parmenides, Herakleitos, Platon, Aristoteles, Plotinos, Augustinus, Thomas Aquinas, Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Kant, Hegel, Schelling, Nietzsche, Bergson, Heidegger, Whitehead 등의 형이상학 관련 저작들이다. As a sequel to the Seminars in Ethical Theory, this course deals with more technical topics in ethics and thereby improves students' ability to discover problems and present arguments.  113.760 / 113.568 - 가치론연구 : Studies in Axiology 가치론연습의 연속과정으로서 사회윤리, 실천윤리, 응용윤리의 제문제를 연구함으로써 철학과 현실의 연관을 모색한다. As a sequel to Seminars in Axiology, this course poses various problems in social, practical, and applied ethics.  113.761 - 사회철학연구 : Studies in Social Philosophy 이 과목은 인간의 자기 인식, 사회 인식의 가능성 조건을 검토하고 객관적인 사회 구조에 대한 분석과 주관적인 인간의 행위 양식 간의 연관성을 밝힘으로써 궁극적으로 바람직한 인간상, 사회상을 모색하는 것을 기본 과제로 한다. In this course we will examine conditions for knowledge of self and society. In this graduate course we will analyze various topics: quantified logic and ontology; problems concerning logical forms; distinction among sentence, statement and proposition; description theory vs. causal theory regarding singular terms; semantic paradox and set-theoretic paradox; correspondence, coherence, pragmatic, semantic, and redundancy theories of truth; the philosophical implication of extended logics including modal, tense, deontic, and spistemic logics; the philosophical implication of non-standard logic such as many-valued logic and intuitionistic logic; metaphysical problems such as monism and pluralism on the correctness of logical systems; and problems in philosophies of logic including empiricism, realism, psychologism and conventionalism on justifying the ground of logic.  113.764 - 언어철학연구 : Studies in Philosophy of Language 언어 철학에서의 중요 문제들은 언어와 세계와의 관계, 언어와 사고와의 관계, 언어와 문화와의 관계라 할 수 있다. 보다 구체적으로 말해, 의미란 존재하는 것인가? 존재한다면 의미란 과연 어떤 존재자인가? 언어적 존재자가 어떻게 언어 밖에 존재하는 세계와 관계를 맺을 수 있는가? 의미와 진리와는 어떤 관계에 있는가? 하는 문제들과 아울러 화행 (話行), 언어적/대상적 필연성, 명제, 사적 언어, 은유의 문제 등이 다루어진다. 이러한 언어와 관련된 철학적 문제들을 형식언어, 변형언어, 해석학 및 구조주의적인 입장에서 비교, 검토한다. 이 과목은 위의 주제에 관한 주요 원전들을 선택하여 강독하고, 이 강독의 토대 위에서 토론을 하는 방식으로 진행된다. This course covers important issues in the philosophy of language, including the relationship between language and world, thought, and culture. More specifically we address questions about the nature of meaning and its relation to truth and the larger world. Also covered are speech acts, linguistic and objectual necessity, proposition, private language, and metaphor. These topics will be examined from the perspective of formal language, transformed language, hermeneutics and structuralism. Students are required to read selected classical texts on the above topics and discuss them.  113.766 - 과학철학연구 : Studies in Philosophy of Science 과학의 합리성, 과학적 실재론, 시 공간의 철학, 과학적 환원, 양자역학의 철학 등 과학과 관련된 여러 철학적 논의들 중 한두 가지를 선택해 집중적으로 논의한다. 과학의 합리성 논의는 과학이 다른 분야와는 달리 방법론적으로 어떤 믿을 만한 근거를 가지고 있는 것인가 하는 문제를 다루며, 과학적 실재론 논의는 과학적 이론이 과연 실재 세계의 모습을 그대로 반영하고 있는 것인지, 아니면 도구적인 유용성만 있는 것인지 하는 것을 다루며, 시 공간의 철학은 시 공간 개념의 규약성 등 시 공간과 관련된 제반 문제를 다루며, 과학적 환원의 문제는 환원이 성립하기 위해서는 어떤 조건들이 성립하여야 하는가 하는 것을 다루며, 양자 역학의 철학은 자유의지와 결정론의 문제 등을 다룬다. 이 과목은 위의 주제에 관한 주요 원전들을 선택하여 강독하고, 이 강독의 토대 위에서 토론을 하는 방식으로 진행된다. For this course, a number of topics will be chosen and discussed intensively. Included are scientific rationality, scientific realism, the philosophy of space and time, scientific reduction, and the philosophy of quantum mechanics. Students will read selected classical texts concerning the above topics and discuss them.  113.767 - 철학적방법론연구 : Studies in Philosophical Methodology 여타의 다른 분과학문들과 마찬가지로 철학적 탐구가 올바로 진행되기 위해서 가장 중요한 것은 올바른 연구방법론의 확립이며, 이러한 문제의식에서 출발하여 이 강의는 서양고대에서 20세기까지 이르는 서양철학사에 등장한 다양한 유형의 철학적 방법론을 연구함을 목표로 한다. In each discipline it is important to establish the best methodology for philosophical investigation. This course studies various kinds of philosophical methodologies that have been proposed from the ancient times to the 20th century.  113.803 - 대학원논문연구 : Reading and Research 본 과목은 논문작성을 위해 필요한 예비작업인 자료수집 및 분석의 기술뿐 아니라, 구체적인 논문작성법을 지도함을 목표로 하며, 학점이수를 위해서는 지도교수가 개최하는 콜로퀴움에 3회 이상 참석하고 그 이외에 지도교수가 요구하는 조건을 충족시켜야 한다. This course guides students in collecting and analyzing required materials and in writing their theses. Part of the course requirement will be attendence of colloquiums sponsored by their adviser at least three times, as well as satisfying requirements imposed by their adviser.
